Aisha Banks
Bio
Aisha Banks, an alumnus of Howard University, majored in Fine Arts with emphasis on Play Writing. She is a fellow of the American Film Institute.
Aisha is the author and director of several compelling plays. The first, “Just Let Me Live Before I Die,” was performed under the aegis of the American Writer’s Guild’s Open Door Program. Other plays include, “Herod is After Your Child,” “Family Affair,” and “The Office.” Aisha also writes, directs and produces original scripts for Mystery Dinner Theatre events.
All of Aisha’s novels reflect her love for and many years living in the Virgin Islands. While residing in St. Thomas, she served as camera operator and producer of the CBS morning television program, “AM Virgin Islands.” She also taught drama and play writing to youth in St. Croix. Two Christian talk shows Aisha produced in the continental US, “Soldiers of the Cross” and “Pastoral Perspectives” are also aired in the British Virgin Islands. When asked why she finds herself drawn to the islands she replies, “The sea, the sun, the sailing, the beaches.”
Aisha and her husband John are residents of Maryland, the Caribbean and Central America. They have two sons and eight grandchildren. Together, they served for several summers as directors of the Fairhaven Bible Camp in St. John, US Virgin Islands.
